Pilates Teacher Certification
What You Learn
You WILL NOT LEARN a cookie cutter approach to studying Pilates where students learn exercises and routines and then copy and repeat them over and over again!
You WILL LEARN an integrative approach to Pilates that will maximize your worth as a teacher or your ability as a Pilates practitioner and bring the greatest possible value to you and your clients.
What We Teach
We teach a systematic approach to studying Pilates, grounded in the evidence based practice of physical therapy.
We teach a logical framework that will allow you to develop truly customized routines to address the complexities of real world populations.
We teach a progressive curriculum based on the classical Pilates repertoires that will allow you to not only become a Certified Pilates Instructor, but one who knows how to sequence movements and appropriately modify the exercises to safely work with a large population of clients.
Prerequisites and requirements
In order to be accepted into our Pilates Instructor Training we require the student to possess both physical strength as well as basic knowledge of anatomy and of the Pilates repertoire. It is also highly recommended but not required that the student has at least 40 hours of prior Pilates training.
To complete the Pilates Teacher certification, each student will need to perform the repertoire from pre-pilates to the advanced repertoire as well as pass a written exam that will include anatomy, exercise names, posture, and exercise modifications.
Students without adequate strength and/or without prior Pilates experience may take longer to complete the certification program, and they will have the ability to postpone final testing.
Taught by a physical therapist and PMA Certified Pilates Instructor and assisted by a PMA Certified Pilates Instructor with 18 years of combined experience in the field of rehabilitation and sport medicine and fitness.
