Teacher Training Program

Taught by Zeina Grifoni, MPT and Certified Pilates Instructor, the course covers the Pilates Repertoire for the mat, reformer, Cadillac, chair and barrel.We will explore a Pilates preparatory repertoire, classical Pilates repertoire, learn how to sequence movements as well as appropriately modify the repertoire to safely work with a large population of clients.Ingrained in our course is an increased emphasis on safety- and the ability to design individual programs based on clients’ needs, goals, and prior injuries.We will spend time on posture analysis and appropriate client assessment both static and in motion.

Our students can expect to come out of the program with comprehensive knowledge of mat, reformer, Cadillac, chair and barrel work, ready to work in any Pilates environment, as they desire.


The body of the program is based on Ellie Herman’s Pilates training and her manuals will be used to teach the course.

Prerequisites and requirements

We do not have strict prerequisites for our program; however, please remember that this is an intense program that requires both physical strength as well as basic knowledge of anatomy and of the Pilates repertoire.It is highly recommended that you have at least 40 hours of prior Pilates training.

Certification


In order to complete the certification, each student will need to perform the repertoire from pre-pilates to the advanced repertoire as well as pass a written exam that will include anatomy, exercise names, posture, and exercise modifications.

Students without adequate strength and/or without prior Pilates experience may take longer to complete the certification program, and they will have the ability to postpone final testing.
